I applied to TTP because they developed technologies and had projects that interested me, such as DAB radio, and were a combination of my previous experience as a consultant and as an embedded software engineer.

I worked purely on software development for the first nine months, writing software in C for embedded micro controllers and for embedded Linux. In the past few months, my role has changed to involve more than 50% project management and I am presently leading two projects while continuing to try and fit in software development where I can.

The type of projects has been quite varied and has included investigation of DVB-H technologies; development of media streaming over Ethernet for an infotainment system and development of a DAB based music download service.

The highlight so far has been solving a difficult technical problem: we didn’t know if it was even solvable! That then allowed us to start a much larger project. The biggest challenge now is managing that project to completion on time.
